I like my takedown 10/22 (one of TacSol’s offerings) because it fits up on a shelf in the safe instead of taking up room in the “long gun slots.”

It also fits nicely in the range bag I use for pistols and taken-down ARs.

By the way, as it turned out, if you remove the stock from a regular 10/22 - it becomes very compact. That way it fits into my range bag easily. It’s only 2 hex screws, both captive. Just tape the sides of the receiver, so pins don’t come out.

I have a standard 10/22 (wood stock, Tech Sights, no optics) and a Charger in an aluminum chassis with an SBM4 brace (please note that I'm NOT in CA.). I've never considered buying a takedown 10/22 as I've never been cramped for transport or storage space. In my mind, that or backpacking/lightweight bugout gun are about the only times that the takedown version is worth the extra cash.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

I have a Tac Sol 10/22 takedown and I cannot complain. Super light, accurate, and lots of storage for extra mags with the Magpul stock. I have easily hit 300yd steel targets with a RMR.

I upgraded the receiver to the newer version, so I have an extra Tac Sol receiver. Ive had it on the marketplace for awhile but only lowballers tend to come out. So i've been hunting for another magpul stock in the meantime. Tacsol sells barrels and stock combos but they have been sold out during Covid season. I most probably will wait till they come back into stock and build it up with a scope so I can use it more for hunting.

Unsure why I need two 10/22 Tac Sol take downs but **** why do I have more than one Colt revolver?

I have a Kidd Innovations 10/22, made about 6-7 years ago. Has a Boyd stock, but other than the Ruger magazines and a 6-9 Rimfire Leupold scope, everything else is made by Kidd. Accuracy rivals my son's Anschutz 1903 bolt action. My favorite rifle by far. My son has an exact one also, but different color.

Ruger 10/22 Takedown, bought it when they first came out. Has a 1-4 Weaver scope. Modded it with a Kidd trigger kit, extractor, buffer, and auto bolt release. Very good gun, but I tend to agree with others that it is kind of a novelty. I bought it primarily for road trips, camping, and for a last minute grab bag kit, not as a primary shooter.

I think I’m going to get a very basic 10/22 from Ruger. Basic meaning just about anything they sell under $400. I probably won’t be getting a take-down.

I just tallied my new round count for my 10/22 and I’m close to 10,000 rounds. And I consider this gun still somewhat new. I’m not going to swap out any springs or parts until it falls apart. Just to see how long it can go. But I think I want a wood stock 10/22 with fiber optic sights.
