I bought an "almost excellent" condition BPR 22 - the almost comes in because someone etched initials into the trigger guard of the stripped "lower receiver" part of the rifle. I've bought a replacement (from Western Gun) and am wondering how difficult it is to take all the parts - trigger, safety, lifter, disconnector, etc from the original "lower" and plop them into the replacement part. The barrel, which is pinned, also needs to be removed from the old and moved to the new.
Has anyone done this and can give me any tips? Parts that will go flying or require a 3rd hand to put in place? I'm pretty good at disassembly/reassembly - can do a Winchester 88 with no slave pins ...
I assume it's fairly tight but is the barrel a bear to remove, or will it turn out once the pin is removed?
