I started snagging parts for an AR build right before our son was born after we had only been married a few months, she suddenly got around to wanting to join the checking accounts, but all they did was toss her on mine. She was not happy when she started scrolling months back finding part purchases....lol
Amen brother! Lmao. I sold a outboard motor that i got for free, installed a few parts, and got 200 for the motor. SO im out about 100 cash or a few weeks of lunches. I also quit smoking so i put 5 bucks a day in a pot in the garage. Doesnt take long to get a few greens in there.

Wow that's a beautiful 22. Missed out on the rugers so the stainless browning buckmark udx is on my next purchase with some inheritance from my grandfather. Figure use it to pass down a classic to my boys.

Take advantage of this 10 day wait to find yourself some 22 LR ammo!
            Thanks

                the 10-22 is stupidly modular

You can change anything you don't like about it. I took an old, beat to crap one that my brother abused for twenty five years and turned it into a target rifle for his daughter. I have pretty much zero skills and everything snapped into place.

Wow, your first .22?? When you start plinking away, you're gonna be asking yourself, "where have you been all my life?"

Out of all my firearms, my .22 rifle is by far my favorite when I hit the range.

Yes, i had one about 50 years ago when i was like 5yo. Havent really shot or owned one since. I think of the ar15 as my plinking 22. With almost no recoil and the cheap abundance of ammo i spent alot of time pinking with the eotech/ar15.
Then the 556 ammo thing came up and all the cheap ammo gone i went back to the 22's. Still hard to find, but, yes affordable.
Actually stoked to play with the new toy. Been a long time, will be nice to get back to basics.
Ordered a three pack of mags. Now which loader to buy?

In my experience, Remington ammo is especially dirty, so to keep your 10/22 functioning reliably, clean it often - at least every 500 rounds. Be sure to use a brass or nylon brush to clean the chamber. I recommend the Brushn'Mop from http://www.gunsmithertools.com

I have also seen two squibs from Remington bulk ammo in the past two years, one of which ruined a $1000+ target pistol. Pay close attention to the sound and feel of every shot, and if one doesn't sound right - too soft or not enough recoil, or smoke from the ejection port - do not fire another round behind it until you check the barrel to make sure it's clear.

Soooo...what all have you ordered so far?! I'm out of the country right now, so I am living vicariously by watching other people customize their stuff...

Oh, I've also been ordering a bunch of parts for my welcome home project...

Yes thank you for that tip regarding those remmingtons. I bought a few buckets of golden bullets (hey i had to!)
Found two boxes of cci tactical 300 rounders.
Thanks to calguns, another few boxes of federal target (shoots well in the mark), and buying a box later this week of some m22 to try.
So frustrating that my son works at Dick's sporting and he doesnt get a discount on ammo or guns. Also never know when 22's will be in.

                          PS,
All i have ordered is three mags, and a set of scope rings. Personally feel i will buy a barrel to match the hunter, as one of the first things on the order list.
Probably give the trigger a good polishing and leave the rest alone. Hey its a 22 right? Lol.

When buying a shotgun at dicks they had 22 secretly stashed in the back, apparently only allowed so much put out a day to keep the supply lasting. Guy went and got me a box out of the back since I had to come back twice to finally pick up my shotgun because they messed up on something.

+1. I have two bucket o bullets. Was lucky one day and scored a cci/tactical 300 pack. I just stop by every now and then. Get lucky sometimes. Might try and get another bucket.

The best upgrade you can do to you 10/22 is trigger work. Brimstone get good marks on Rimfire Central. The basic level 3 is good. Kidd stuff is top of the line. Cool goys guns. Have fun.
