Just picked up a new Marlin XT-22 on Thursday, to go with my Marlin 795, mounted a Simons 22mag 3x8 AO scope. I started cycling bolt to get it a little loosened up, after about 20 cycles the bolt came apart, got all the parts out of the receiver it was in 3 parts. After inspection the striker sleeve had unscrewed from the front bolt section. First thought was crap new rifle and I need to send it to the dealer, but decided BS looked the bolt over to see what I needed to do, first had to punch out the roll pin holding the striker knob to the striker and the pin holding the cam pin, pushed the striker back in a vice against the striker sleeve to shorten spring length tightened vice to hold, screw front bolt section onto striker sleeve ect. ect. well after an hour got it back together and working, come on Marlin show some pride. So took it to the range with the 795 to get the new scopes zeroed in, once I got them shooting into the 10 put several 5 round groups less then dime size with both at 25 yards. I think they could both out shoot me. I'm not going to bad mouth Marlin for the bolt problem, may have been built on a Monday or a Friday? I think both the 795 & XT are great little rifles in the price range
