Trijicon rear sight on Glock not flush

I had my Trijicon HDs installed by a smith. Is the rear sight supposed to sit flush? There is a noticeable gap. Thoughts?

If it's installed with the existing dovetail, there isn't much the smith can do about that gap. That could just be the tolerance on these sights.

As long as the pistol shoots to an acceptable point of aim vs. point of impact, this isn't an issue. Consider this also; if the sight were configured so that the rear was flush with the top of the slide when installed, it would likely damage the finish under it when installed.
