    Rifle Light/Laser Combos?

I'm trying to find a good light/laser combo for a rifle. Looking around there doesn't seem to very many if any out there. Closest thing I could really find, is a Leapers UTG Gen 2 Light/Laser, but it looks pretty cheap and the reviews suggest it's meant more for airsoft or 22LR guns. There seem to be a fair number of light/laser combo options for Pistols but nothing for rifles. What's the deal? Are they out of vogue these days for some reason? Or am I missing something, do you guys have any suggested light/laser combos for a rifle?

Are you asking as a single unit that does both? If you don't mind separate and price isnt a problem i think steiner or atpial with a surefire is good to go. Single units I hear cases where people use surefire x400 series with tape switches on it.

Yeah, I was looking for single units to cut down on the bulkiness and assortment of switches. x400 looks good, thanks for the suggestion. Is there any reason you can't mount a Handgun light/laser on a Rifle? It looks like the x400 is designed for both, but just in general.

I'm not sure but it could possibly be because the mounts or internals cannot handle the recoil, or the idea of using a pistol light/laser is funny. But again, no idea. Surefire is a great brand though and I do know a few people use it on rifles.

Yeah I have heard that with regards to using handgun Red Dot sights on rifles, but TBH don't really understand it (I mean doesn't a 45 subcompact have a lot more recoil than a full size 223 rifle?) Im not sure if the same is true with lights/lasers.

x400 looks awesome but might be a bit out of my budget. I don't plan to be kicking down doors with this thing. Would there be any issues mounting a TLR-2 on a rifle?

            Vism makes a couple

I like the VLGSNVQRB and VLG4NVQRB laser light combo's. Light portion is mostly low light navigation. I currently run it with a Olight Valkyrie which is about 1200 lumens so searching for stuff is not a problem. Both units are under $100.00 ( the Valkyrie was just on sale last month for $60.00.) Take a look, been very surprised by the quality.

There are a few out there, I have had good experiences with the Holosun LS210R

Obvious ones are the Surefire's and Streamlights. Both have a lot of add-ons and remotes for lights on long guns.

As far as pistol lights... I have a TLR-4 which has worked well. It doesn't fit the gun they way it should but on a rifle maybe it wouldn't matter.

I'd take a hard look at the NEW Streamlights though - TLR-8.

I have the TLR-7 and it is the most impressive Streamlight I've seen yet. I like it more than my XC1 so far. TLR-8 is the model where they added a laser IIRC.

Crimson Trace Linq. Wireless remote on your pistol grip.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

Lots of good info, thanks. Yeah I am planning to mount it underbarrel but will play with it and see what works best.

I am strongly leaning twoards a TLR-2 because it has an option for a tape switch, whereas the TLR-4 ans TLR-8 don't, I feel that might be important if Im mounting something orignally designed for a pistol as accessing the switches may be awkward on a rifle (esp the TLR-8). The Linq looks cool but also really bulky and the wireless feature seems gimmicky. I would go for an x400 based on your guys' reccomendations but it is just a little outside the pricepoint I want to pay for a light/laser.

I wouldn't be so sure just yet. The TLR-7 and TLR-8 have a gasket seal and four hex heads on the butt end that completely removes the end plate with the switches... they could make a replacement cap with a remote switch, otherwise why would they design that into it.

Some good options here as long as not on a hunting rifle.
