Burris fullfield 2 screw on 50mm objective cover

I've had my Fullfield 2 for about 1.5 years and the only thing negative i've ever been able to say about the dam thing is that no one makes a threaded objective cover for it. While at Shot one of the Burris reps gave me a tip (that proved to be kind of wrong) but with a little mickey mousing i was able to get it to work. So for all you 50mm fullfiled 2 guys here is the tip

Buy a Leupold Alumina Threaded Lens Cover, 50mm part #58950, grab some black duct tape and put four very small strips on the thread of the cover in an "x" like pattern. This will allow the thread (which are a tinny bit to small for the objective) to mesh in nicely and be held firmly in place.

I know it's not a real fix and i'd be willing to bet i'll have to replace that duct tape every year or so, but it works damn well and will keep my mid range optic safe from who knows what.

and for those wondering why i didn't just use the buttler creek caps? look at this and then ask that question again

    Hope this helped someone....
