    Family Heirloom

I am a 5th generation owner of a .36 cal ? muzzle loading cap and ball tiger maple long rifle.... Have not looked at the makers mark in a while but from memory it was made by W.G. Strong. ... One time when i was on ancestry.com i tracked Mr Strong down In Kalamazoo MI. where my father was born and the family was for a while i found Strong in 2 different sensus forms first one as a machinist and the second one as a gunsmith. ... Now the gun did not fall apart the last time it was fired been keept in a closet out of weather no missing parts except for a period correct nail going through the very front of forearm through the stock and a barrel lug and a female guide for the ram rod on barrel... I want to fire it, plan on unscrewing the nipple assy from barrel and running a brush through the bore to clean as best as i can and insure the bore / chamber is unobstructed by a prior load and so on might get a borescope for my phone for a closer / deeper look.... So to the part i need help with powder type and load, i plan on popping out a couple wads of cloth or something before any lead... .. I am 66 and iam pretty sure the gun has not been fired in more than 75 years as my father didn't like to shoot the hand me downs... I have some pyrodex RS or FFG eq. on hand ... never fired Black Powder before so here i am
