Single Action Revolver Reproduction Qualify as CR

    Hi

I think i know the answer to this question, but figures just to ask and see. I was wondering if a reproduction of single action revolver, Like a Colt 1873, qualifies as a CR. I know that it will have to be DROS, but I have a CR and COE and was wondering if I can skip the ten day wait?
"In my dream, the world had suffered a terrible disaster. A black haze shut out the sun, and the darkness was alive with the moans and screams of wounded people. Suddenly, a small light glowed. A candle flickered into life, symbol of hope for millions. A single tiny candle, shining in the ugly dark. I laughed and blew it out."

    Reproductions are not C&R.
Unless, they were made 50 or more years ago.

Or are specifically listed in ATF's list of Curio and Relics like certain commemorative firearms. There are several Colt and S&W models listed that were manufactured more recently for example.

Federally, this is correct. In Ca, it still has to be over 50 years old although, it's a moot point because, a C&R handgun still needs to go through an 01 or 07FFL in CA.

But with an FFL03 and COE you can skip the 10 days wait on a C&R pistol. That was his original question.

I really thought after AB 809 became law people would stop spouting this nonsense. California uses the exact same definition of C&R as the feds. They always have. And since AB 809 became law the language in the penal code that used to confuse people is gone.

Just double checking myself but that is still true? After Jan 1 2014 the 50 year requirement is no longer in an issue here in California, correct?

Indeed. Sorry. I should have been more clear as you were. Thanks.
