Okay so ordered a China SKS aka type 56 and really like it but would love to get this deal in a AK. When can we start buying these oldies but goodies?

I believe they were banned by name ever since that dude shot up the Asian immigrant school back in the day.

If the AK is called out by name on either Appendix A or Appendix C of Roberti-Roos AW list, weapon is banned and will stay banned as long as anti gun Democrats remain in power in Ca.

Real, surplus Type 56 AK's are full auto, and that is a big no no and many levels of government. And even if importing full auto guns was legal, we have a federal restriction on importing guns and ammunition from China, sans sporting shotguns and shells. And California has its own bans/restrictions on full autos and some previously imported Chinese semi auto AK's, so....

Gun Control Act of 1968 prohibits the importation of MGs for non-Gov/Mil/LE use.
Semi-auto only Type 56 AK style rifles were banned from importation in 1989.
Since they are not date stamped and date of manufacture requests from PRC are not forthcoming, they would be considered C&R after the year 2039.sigpic
