I bought a cheap eBay used Ramline stock for an M1 Carbine. It did not come with a recoil plate or screw. I assumed that I would be able to use the originals. However, while the plate fits, the screw does not thread in. It "seems" like a different size. I do not want to force it and ruin my original.
Does anyone know if a screw and recoil plate are supplied by Ramline, or are the original ones just used? If they are supplied, are they the same thread count and size as from the wooden stock?
I don't mind hunting down a Ramline part, nor do I mind rethreading/tapping the POS beat up Ramline stock. I'd just like to know which would be the easier path. Hope this makes sense. Thanks

p.s. - the reason I want to use the synthetic stock is to save my original wooden one. The Ultimak rail mount does not fit the current wooden stock, and I would rather not remove any wood to make it fit.
