    C&R transportration across state lines?

If I have a 03 license, and/or a COE What are the regs if I go to Nevada and purchase a firearm and bring it back to Cal? Other than Keeping it
    "stock" with bayonet, etc. TIA

The COE has absolutely ZERO effect in this situation.

If you have a C&R FFL then you can buy any C&R firearm (excluding NFA stuff) in Nevada. It doesn't even have to be legal in California. It just needs to be legal in California before you bring it back home.

Out of state C&R handgun purchases need to be reported to CalDOJ via the C&R Handgun Report form within five days of returning to California.

Out of state C&R long gun purchases do not need to be reported to CalDOJ at all.

Of course Amendment II has it dead on the money!

But what was left out was, watch your wallet. If you are an unfortunate sod like myself, and find youself in other states about once a month, then get ready to be POOR!

Nothing quite like the feeling of buying a pistol or rifle with NO WAITING PERIOD.

I now keep 3 locks, and an empty pistol case in my luggage. It reduces the cost of buying guns out of state. If I pick up a long gun, Wal-Mart provides my carry case for $19 and I use the same locks to reduce the cost.

I've accumulated quite the collection of Wal-Mart cases.

TSA guys at Denver, Phoenix, and Albuquerque now know me well.

When in Las Vegas, I just drive the new guns home.

As soon as I arrive, I ship the DOJ a check for $19 for each pistol and the form. They send me a confirmation letter about a week later. Even though I can fit 3 pistols on a form, I get a seperate letter back for each pistol. Long guns as stated, simply get logged into my bound book.

      Have fun.

Fantastic, but I was under the impression that a firearm had to be kept unmodified to keep it's C&R status. With bayonet, etc. Maybe I was misinformed. Because I see BB's and Cut front stocks all the time. Is this acceptable only in -50 yr old guns or can I legally modify a C&R. to be CA compliant?

Whether or not modified C&R guns keep their C&R status is kind of a gray area.

But once the gun is yours there is no requirement for you to maintain its C&R status. If you modify one of your C&R firearms so that it is no longer C&R, then you just can't sell it as C&R anymore. You can still keep it and shoot it though.
