    Lee Enfield Gurus: SMLE question

I just got a #4 Mk1 from Century Arms. I broke her down but found I had an extra part.

    Does it go here?

I have been looking at SMLE pics online and havn't seen any SMLE's with this doo hicky.

Also, can anyone tell me where my SMLE was manufactured? I know it's from England. It lacks an orginal serial number; just one assigned by Century Arms. On the buttstock band it has "M47 1943."

Weren't these from a group that was imported in recent times? It's a stacking rod and was added by the Turks and is not a British feature.

M47C is a code used to mark parts made by BSA Shirley in Birmingham. BSA Shirley rifles produced in 1943 should have the prefix AC, AD, AE, AL, AQ, or AV before the numerical production number.
