i did not know they are more desirable!!! i've been out of the loop. anyone know why? is this the one that has the grenade launcher or sometihing-or-other part on the side of the stock? or the thing that looks like a 2"-diameter circle?

IHC produced fewer M1's than the other manufacturers, so they are the rarest.

There are also a few variants within the IHC family. There are postage stamp, gap, arrowhead variants and some command a premium. As for recent service grades, I ordered one last summer and it came with CMP wood and very few USGI parts. Most parts were PB, but there was also a CMP sourced gas cylinder. That SG was nothing like the ones I received 10 years ago. Are SGs even available? When I checked earlier today all I saw was experts and 7.62 mod0 and Mod1.

There must have been a computer glitch Showing they were available recently because it's showing again sold out 6/12/2024. Or else they found a few more sold out again quickly and just did not update the sold out date.

SPRINGFIELD (SA) or HARRINGTON & RICHARDSON (HRA)RECEIVER for $1,150 With free shipping and handling still available as of this post. Expert grade

I checked a couple of days ago, and they showed Service Grade rifles for $900. Now it says "sold out 4/3/24"
Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

CMP 308 "Expert": is a solid rifle and at very-very good price (1,150). Anywhere else in the gun world you will absolutely pay more for a good shooter!!!
I have read some of these reviews and think many are on point as to the quality of the CMP- Garand you get for the money they ask. I received my first 308 Expert three weeks ago and I was amazed in all the glory of the hard case, rifle stock finish, the receiver etc. I class my purchase as a superior buy and would encourage all to get on board before the CMP runs OUT. I dialed mine in on a paper bullseye within (4) shots!!!
I promptly ordered a 30-06 "Expert" the next day.
