    Hi Trap55,

    I have four M70's, serial numbers 268569, 334151, 403956, and 506093. I would appreciate any info on manufacturing or ship dates. Thank you !

      268569 was made in 1953, with 43,915 made that year.
      334151 was made in 1955, with 37,495 made that year.
      403956 was made in 1957, with 31,688 made that year.
      506093 was made in 1961, with 41,189 made that year.
      A letter from Cody would give you the shipping dates, and any options they were shipped with.

                Made about Jan/Feb of 1948, with the highest production year (pre '64) of 147,934 made that year.

                          Correct me if I'm reading this wrong, but a Model 1885 serial 314X was manufactured 1886?

                          That same list that I'm looking at places some of my model 70's in the late 30's ie - the 30/06 serial 507X and the .257 roberts serial 4036 were both manufactured in '37, .22 hornet serial 2991X was from '39?

                          The model 70 list doesn't seem quite accurate, maybe I'm missing something...
