    ? for muzzleoladers

It never occurred to me to ask here before I started to put it online but I was wondering if I could get your opinion on this thing I created. My friends and I have been using it for a while (them more than me of course) to remove a ramrod that's gotten stuck in the barrel.
It workspretty good and I am going to try and sell them on EBAY.
Here is a video to show how it works.

Do you think it might sell? RAMROD EZ

    thx

Looks good, although I’ve never gotten a RR stuck (mine has a handle).
You should definitely go for it and spread your entrepreneurial wings!

Link is dead for me. I also have never stuck a ramrod, but I would like to see the concept for the product.

You guys have never had a stuck ramrod? Heck, when I'm with the BP guys this is how I learn a bunch of new cusswords...
My homemade ramrod has a handle/knob on the end and this is what I'd been tapping against to remove the rod. Until I broke it off of course....
Thx for some input AND for putting the video here. I would never be able to figure out how to do it.
I am of course "concerned" about this falling flat OR being so successful making these becomes a full time job. Time will tell I guess.
I have called twice and emailed the ad dept for Muzzleblast magazine to ask about putting an ad there. To date, I have never received a response..
I guess I'll start with our for sale group.

That's a neat idea for a tool and it could possibly sell. I've had a stuck ramrod or two when trying new thicker patches that I wasn't used to and not using enough lubricant. I learned early on to use a nice long dedicated metal ramrod with a thick handle to give you a good grip instead of the slender wood ones that store under the rifle. Send the people at trackofthewolf a message asking if they would list it for sale and see how it does. They have responsive customer service and are a small business. I'm sure you could work out a commission that makes sense for them and they'd be happy to list a few as a trial run to see how they sell. How much do they cost you to make and how fast can you churn them out?

Thanks so much for the tips. I am of course familiar with Track of the Wolf. I dont envision them selling handmade items like this. If my attempts to contact the ad dept at Muzzleblast keeps failing, I will check it with them. Worst they can do is say no..... OR steal my idea....
My cost depends upon how much I have to pay for the aluminum. I am experimenting with different sizes and thicknesses but my cost for each is at least $5. I make each one by hand in my garage. If I can sell 10 I make around $15/hr. Hardly a fortune but it does get me out of the recliner. Thx again!

You are at risk of damaging the crown on the barrel if you don't hit it on center every time. I have never had one get stuck , so this tool would be useless.

That would work perfectly for a bullet puller also. When the powder won?t go off after several tries with new percussion caps how does one get the projectile out of the barrel without one of those?? Great engineering skills!

I don't think that's a concern since most ramrods are wood, plastic, or aluminum. And instead of the banging method using a table I think a much easier technique would be if he places the aluminum block between his feet and stands on it then pulls the rifle up using his whole body and arms. That's probably how I would use it anyway.

                        Remove nipple
Pour a little powder in the flash hole
                        Reinstall nipple
Put a cap on and fire

                        Usually works
