    Lahti?think I need one

I picked up a Lahti the other day and the thing was butter smooth. Now of course I want one.

Found one locally that is a worn Danish contract with holster, mags, etc. Bore is good, wear is just holster carry. $1150 OTD.

Is this a deal too good to pass up? I will likely shoot it a good bit so I don?t care about condition.

The Swede made, Danish contract m40's used to be the cheapest way into the Lahti pistols. They are great, but im surprised how much they are now. $1150 seems to be about what they are going for. Not a deal, but not overpriced. Look for stress cracks at the thin rail areas and the slide. Also, be prepared for everyone to ask about your "Luger".

Lahti's are cool and unusual. If actually means anything, I paid $795 for mine four years ago.

I have a Swedish and a Finnish example. My two seem so heavy to me compared to other 9mms. Also, I second the warning about cracked frames. I don't recall other 9mms that crack under use.

Still marvel at my preference in 9mm, the Browning Hi Power, that guy was a genius.

I?d buy it at that price. Like Rogerbutthead, I have a Swedish and Finnish example. I paid $3000 for the Finnish VKT L-35. I prefer to shoot the Swedish Husqvarna M40.

              I'll third this.

I had two Lahtis pass through my hands many years ago. Both had frame cracks.
