I was hoping to get some advice in this forum. I recently did my LiveScan and then started the application for my COE. After several days, the application was rejected from the FBI for "not enough Characteristics". I am assuming they mean the scan was unclear or there was a problem reading my fingerprints. I contacted the agency that did the scan here in Santa Rosa and they told me they would re-do the scan for free, but I had to have a physical letter from the FBI explaining the issue. It has now been several weeks. I tried making a request through CFARS but have not heard anything and so far no physical letter from the FBI.
Do I have any recourse here, or do I need to pay the LiveScan fees all over again with a different company? Does anyone have any insight? Anyone have any rejection notices and what did you do? I certainly have no problem with background checks for firearms!
