    Found a French MAS 36

Picked it up on a whim because I think they are cool and unique, paid $375 might be a little high but they don't come up for sale too often. It's a K serial number.

That's not high if it is in good condition.

I paid $350 for my never-fired example a couple of years back, couldn't be happier, thing is accurate!

I put 4 rounds into one hole at 50 yds. The only downside is that the impacts were about 2 feet to the right of POA haha. Had to change out the rear sight to adjust the windage so that I was shooting straight again.

I owned one several years ago; a funky looking rifle, but a smooth bolt a fairly accurate. But I had to hold my aim to the right because of the rear sight leaf. Ultimatly sold it, wasn't interested in finding another rear leaf to correct problem.

Nice specimen. I for one would like to see the rest of the pictures when available.

            "It's a K serial number."

What is your full serial number, if you care to divulge? Here is mine:

OP, your rifle looks to maybe be a non re-build, which makes it more valuable. It looks like a "type 2" rifle. Depending on SN was built either just before the war or after.....

See the links below for more info.

Does it still have it's stock markings?

They should look something like this? If so it will indicate the year of production, If the stock is original, and has not gone through a arsenal refurb....

Looks nice to me, the bayonet design on those is neat.

                  The serial number is K99327
The stock and trigger guard numbers match but the bolt and magazine plate doesn't. Looks like the early enamel type finish.

Here are a couple more pictures:

I don't think $375 is too high for that one. I think it's a nice example.

those've really come up in value last few years! interesting. they were the only sub 300 gun that wasnt a mosin for a long time.

i always liked the mas too; neat bayonet design, neat sights, handy little size.

interesting features taken from other bolt actions too
