Hey folks,
I was reorganizing my bayonet collection when I noticed an odd mark on my Spanish M1941 bayonet. It's faint but it looks like a Nazi Proof mark on the rear end of the hilt next to the catch or release button.
I checked online for info about Franco Spain's wartime assistance to the Nazi Germany. Other than shipping raw ore to Germany, Spain allowed volunteers to serve in the Wehrmacht.
Now I'm wondering if these Spanish volunteers were equipped by the Wehrmacht or did they bring their own M1943 short rifles and M1941 bayonets?
Here's the best close up I could get with my phone.
