Here's the one I threw together a couple weeks back, featureless & pinned mag so I think I'm double covered.

10 shot groups <3" at around 200yards with miwall cheap stuff & a hot barrel, I was really surprised it shot as good as it did. Only thing I may change is the scope.

dump the pinned mag, you don't need it.

While I think it's probably a better idea to mount it only on the receiver, the one-piece mount itself acts as a monolithic rail. I really doubt it would be an issue at all.

This is why the SPR Mk12 had a really really long riser rail that ran from the rear sight all the way to the gas block.

It's good that you have a one piece scope mount, I've seen people put one scope ring on the upper receiver rail and the other scope ring on the handguard rail.

or slap on a pistol grip. If your afraid of law enforcement, just remember that almost none know the gun laws. Even if its completely 110% legal you can detained.

                    mecam,
Just curious. What is the upper on your carbine? It looks nice and may be what I want for my next OLL build.

It's a Stag model 1 but I changed the hand guard to a UTG alluminum and added a tactical grip.
