    AR-15 2015 Law Changes!

So I have multiple friends and gun store commando's telling me to buy as many AR-15's or lowers as I want before the new year. I ask them why and they cannot give me a convincing answer! One says serialization of lowers, and others say mandatory registration. Are any of these changes actually real? I want to get 2 AR-15's in my house for protection or just in case we go to civil war. Should I rush into buying them now or do I have time? Are there assault weapon bans coming out????? WTF is going on! BTW, I am new to AR-15's.

Maybe they are thinking registration of 80% lowers if the ghost gun ban goes into effect.

i thought the same about the 1/1/2014 changes (registration of long guns) so i bought my AR before they kicked in...well, after givving it some thought, the DROS is already a form of registration (i dont care what anyone says) so they already had all my info.
either way i 'feel' much better telling myself every night before i go to bed that my AR isnt registered...but in all reality i know it is, regardless of what year i bought it....lol
If you suck with irons you will suck with optics. The difference is the aimpoint will allow you to suck faster and a scope will give you a closer look at how much you suck.
AR's have finally become full blown "men's barbie dolls" now with fashion accessories.

A day late and a dollar short

Long gun registration began in 2014

The only change in 2015 for 100% ARs will be that you will need a FSC to buy one.

What is a FSC? Is that like a license, sorta like the ones needed for fully auto firearms?

so it will just be a firearms safety certificate, no more Handgun safety certificate?

How do they want to enforce serial numbers and registration of pieces of aluminum not designated firearms by the ATF?

You can use your HSC for handguns until it expires, but you will need a FSC for everything else. The FSC can be used for handguns too, you don't need both.

just by a dozen 80% lowers get a good jig and your good to go. You only need to serialize when transferring the then completed gun. Others on the forum have stated that you should serialize before hand so to avoid any issues with LEO or range police.

Check out Senate Bill 808 - All of the details are in there. It will not affect your "non-firearm" chunk of aluminum, but it will require you to get advance permission to make your own firearm, and you'll have to mark it with a DOJ-issued serial number. The bill is still in play. It's too soon to know if it will pass.
