So i finally decided to convert my Saiga Rifle (7.62x39) i bought all Tapco parts kit everything went smooth Drilled out the holes punched up the push pins and everything. I put the stock on and Grip and went i went to install the new trigger group I noticed the two push pins that go through the trigger and the firing hammer were very lose even went i clicked them back together. and i can even push them back out again with my finger. I put it all together correctly what i think was correct and did a function check I.E pulling the hammer back and clicking the trigger to through the hammer and then both the push pins came lose and messed everything up they both came out. I dont know that to do now im pretty sure everything is in correctly! please help guys! sorry if wrong Forum. Thanks in advance!

Help! Saiga Conversion Problem!

Sounds like the Tapco G2 needs the Saiga trigger mod. The hammer axis tube is too wide with the bold hold re-installed not allowing the pins to seat properly. Thus, the retaining plate won't seat into the groves on the pins correctly, allowing them to slide out. You can search on how to do the mod or you can buy the trigger already modified.Comment

Tapco retaining plate.Originally posted by TeddyBallgamemaybe I'm wrong, but, if a $50.00 investment can help me a bit, i'll just have to go a day without the hookers and blow to cover it

Get a tapco retaining plate. The pins will always be loose, but should not come out. Ive done a couple of the conversions now and the tapco is by far the way to go. also screw the BHO option. Take that **** out and either run the saiga as the AK was designed (no bold hold open) or get a new Fire selector switch that has the notch cut out for hold open. OR you could just reuse your existing fire selector and do this mod:
But agreed...pix plz.Last edited by SFCRangerDoc; 07-01-2014, 2:14 PM.sigpicComment

No mod needed unless your keeping the bolt hold open. The hammer won't even move if he managed to jam everything in there.Sounds like the Tapco G2 needs the Saiga trigger mod. The wise, learn from the mistakes of others.
The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

The one nice thing about the bho is it makes boresnaking very easy. And it's free. So is cutting a notch in your safety... I don't get why ppl pay 60 bucks for a Krebs safety. I guess they have too much money.Comment

Cause of the notch and disengaging with the index finger.
Does the krebs hold the bolt far enough back to strip a round?Originally posted by TeddyBallgamemaybe I'm wrong, but, if a $50.00 investment can help me a bit, i'll just have to go a day without the hookers and blow to cover it
