Hahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahaha! A professional comedian! ANY Heller decision that goes "our way" ie., that affirms there is an individual right in the constitution - is going to include that SOME "reasonable restrictions" (this was the POV of the BUsh lawyers making "our case.") like you have the constitutional right to free speech but can't libel or yell "fire" in a crowded theater. Restrictions will be created by individual states, and we will have the choice (like we "do" now) to live in the states that have more gun freedom.

As I see it, restrictions on "assault weapons" will be considered reasonable.
And I don't see California rolling back ANY restrictions. As you know they're working overtime to cram in as many as they can from lead ammo to microstamping to new "permits" for already checked out FFL holders, and they will be allowed to keep them because you can, technically, still buy and own a gun in California, so they are not violating the constitution.

Just not the guns we want is all. Says we have the right to own guns -- doesn't say WHAT KIND.

The point is, you want a saiga or an OLL get one ASAP cause sh*t's coming, my friends, fair or unfair, and if you think Saiga's are gonna be l=plentiful next year, you're smokin' the good stuff. But don't worry. If Fed bill 10-22 passes under an Obama-nation, ALL this will be moot.

God I need to open the safe and hold a gun....

    Ahhhh... that's better....

That's why everyone is hoping for incorporation come next Monday. That said...

With an individual right to arms, my hope is that we can dispense with the "sporting purpose" import restrictions. As has been said multiple times in the past, the 2nd is not about duck hunting.

NFA regs aren't going anywhere, but they can and should be challenged with the goal of allowing civilian ownership of newly manufactured MGs.

With those two out of the way, ownership of new AK74s - subject to background checks and tax stamps - are not beyond the realm of possibility.

It won't happen overnight, but I remain optimistic.

      History happens next week!

Well since I started this thread I have bought 2 AK's. I got them both of of the classified adds here!

First one is a Hungarian built on an ITM receiver: Paid $550

Here are the specs on the second one off the sellers website: Paid $489 shipped

We start with a Romanian "G" model "hand selected" numbers matching parts kit. This semi-automatic 7.62X39 AK-47 includes a chromed lined barrel with little or no use. The heart of this rifle is built on a NODAK SPUD/DCI(USA) stamped double stack 1.0 mm receiver. Finish is GUN-KOTE Matte Black. The rifle includes a Tapco(USA)G2 fire control group with an improved trigger pull(3-4lbs) along with a Red Star Arms(USA) axis pin retaining plate, a Buffer Technologies(USA) spring buffer. The wood furniture from the original gun, including the original front hand guard, is removed, stripped and refinished with several coats(usually 4-6) of MINIWAX Spar Urethane clear gloss. Utilizing the original stock allows the use of the storage compartment in the end of the butt stock for storage of the cleaning kit, batteries for a scope, etc. The pistol grip is an ERGO(USA), ambidextrous SURE GRIP model, with smooth finger groves, the superior texture finish on this grip provides for enhanced weapon control. We also utilize a USA manufactured, AK-74 style muzzle brake for better control in a rapid fire sequence. The rifle is checked for proper head spacing and is test fired. The semi-auto rifle meets or exceedes the Federal Regulations for USA parts compliance. Also included is a 30 round Bulgarian steel reinforced waffle magazine, along with an original Romanian sling, cleaning kit, oil bottle, instruction manual, and a hard shell case. Built with pride by Overland Industries, Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Backed by a LIMITED FACTORY WARRENTY. The item must ship to a Licensed Federal Firearms Dealer.

I am pretty happy with them both. I would take either one over a WASR or Vector any day!

How do you guys think I did?

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms, disarm only those who are neither inclined, nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants. They serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
