      You don't need an AK.

      You need 2 or 3 AK's.

        ...if "Yes", what brand is a great bang for the buck, authentic look/wood furniture... I think I know the answer to the question though, WASR...
        Umm, dude? Sounds to me like you already know that you do indeed "need" an AK.

          I asked myself the same questions and ened up with an AK47. Just not sure I am going to keep it. Its nice and shoots great, but I like the AR platform over the AK. I think I will have to build a 7.62X39 AR to go with the 5.56 and 5.45 AR's I have.

              While my collection is in its beginning stages, I'm researching to buy or build an AK or AR. I'm leaning toward the AK first, and the link below was VERY helpful in my search. Read up, and good luck!

                You need two AKs. A 47 and a 74, and a few more ARs.

                  I got both too Cuz I like the AR but:

                    AK74 FTW. Just convert a Saiga. Its cheap, easy, brand new, Russian, and 98% an AK. 74 because it will be MUCH more accurate, thus you will not be so torn from your AR's accuracy. It is cheap, online everywhere, no recoil.

                    A great gun. Go buy one.

                        Get the 47, then get the 74!

                        Honestly I like AKM's better than AR's, but I am more comfortable and proficient with the AR (thanks uncle sam).
                        But there is no getting around the AKM being a cool freakin rifle!

                              To be, or not to be: that is the question:
                              Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
                              The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
                              Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
                              And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep;
