I've shot that JAE and it is really nice. Of course the USO scope on top made is spectacular. Its up to you to take care of your legal issues but here are the stocks you are probably looking for.

A nice aimpoint or eotech .... a nice pentagon or surefire w/pressure switch...even a GriPod so you fall into a bipod category and not a foregrip. Have fun w/ it...that thing has a rail and a short barrel for a purpose so why the hell not make it so!

I would also recommend a Tango Down AC-4 bipod

TangoDown - Known for Vickers Tactical Upgrades for Glock. Our reputation for unique design and quality manufacturing of weapon components has earned us first choice when it comes to stepping into harm’s way.

How much does the Troy MCS weigh? It looks heavy. And the M14 / M1A is already a heavy rifle.

On the CA version of the SAGE EBR, can you convert it to a pistol grip for use outside of CA?

            CA Version

            Rest of the country version

Looks like if you had the parts you could bolt them back on out of state.

I like the sage or sopmod because they look to be the least weight.

If I ever build a tack driver it will be with the JAE-100 stock though.

Isn't the Gripod considered a forward grip and isn't that illegal on an M1A?

Or is it just in that too close to call category?

This one would be legal for MY rifle... Yes, in California... then again, it's a Garand...

For an M1A SOCOM II... I'm more of a minimalist kind if a guy. I'd say just to do a low/no power optical sight and a bipod. 1 point sling. Basically, the idea is to keep the weight down. Heck, it already weighs more than my Garand does (according to Springfield Armory's website) so why make it heavier than it has to be?

Because you want to ensure that you use all the real state on the rails so that you are ready with a nice heavy bench rifle.. Just waiting for the zombies to come to you while you just sit back, aim, squeeze and phffffff...

Yes, all the rail... its a heavy gun especially after carrying it on a hunt for 2 or 3 miles. The bottom rail comes off very easy and personally I like the gun better w/o it.

I'm still waiting for the scope - Ill post some pictures after I get it dialed in.
