I need a little advice... To blue or not to blue?
If you want just say yes/no or you can read about why I'm doing this to get a better taste of what I'm trying to accomplish. That being said...
I'm working on a little project, something to keep me busy in my free time. I have a sporterized mosin with ATI monte carlo stock, scout scope, tri-rail, etc (for all you purists, don't worry I love the look of the mosin and pretty much nothing on the gun number matched anyway. i still have the old stock, bayo, sling, etc) and decided i wanted to reblue the whole thing. This gun is going to eventually have a Rock Solid mount, bent bolt, dovetail/rear sight removed and barrel cut to 22". Before rebluing I decided to take down all the turn down grooves on the barrel so it'd be looking like a rifle barrel should. Now that I'm almost done with sanding i noticed how nice the barrel looked in bare metal form. It really has me thinking whether i should keep it as is or continue to reblue. The images aren't what the finished barrel is going to look like, just a small patch of sanding with 800grit without proper stepping (gradually increasing grit not just a leap). Finished project will look much more "professional" and eye-pleasing...
ALL OPINIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED
