SureFire MB556K muzzle brake - photo and review

    EDIT: RANGE REPORT:

This thing is amazing! well worth the price tag!
I'll tell you I was a little aprehensive at first spending so much on a muzzle device when a standard A2 cage is like $10 and sure they've been working for forever

But after shooting this today, there is no way "standard" is good enough any more.
There is no comparison. Hammered tripples at 110 yards on a 6" target... NOT A PROBLEM - this will significantly speed up my follow up shots, it's like the sights don't even twitch.

It's not loud, and the people standing next to me told me it wasn't any different than the other ARs there that day, maybe a slightly different signature but not some crazy loud blast. Heck a guy next to me with a pistol AR had one of those KAC pigs - it was worse than mine (I let a couple people shoot it, they were amazed)

Installation was easy... the included shims time the device perfectly with the 22fts of torque. they include some sort of thread locker called rocksett and I don't think I'll ever get this thing off my gun. which is OK by me - the thing ROCKS

Quality - nothing short of what you would expect from surefire, if you know the name you already know it's good stuff.

Stop giving us a rifle peep show and go the full monty already!
No really can we see the whole rifle?
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

where you shootin' that thing? indoor/outdoor? It's awesomely deafening at an indoor range. Best to let your neighbor know, lol.

More or less. It's a Rifle gas system with a 16" barrel. It's not like the bushmaster with a hidden gas block

This pic is about 2 months old... now have a fixed rear sight, obviously new muzzle device and an MOE pistol grip (MIAD broke)
I also painted the gun tan... then scraped it all off and re-coated it black. LOL

I'll be shooting at spenceville - it's a DFG range and on tuesdays it's not at all crowded. I will see how it is, I plan to take it to the next carbine course I attend but I don't want to deafen people standing right next to me either. LOL

Awesome. I was looking at that brake as well. What kind of ammo were you using?

I think I have finally completed my rifle system: the whole point of my rifle was iron sights and low recoil - so the rifle gas system/short heavy barrel + this break is just pure sex
