Hello,
I'm going to buy duracoat for 2 builds very soon. I was wondering if anyone here has tried to make a Multicam from stock duracoat colors. As near as I can figure by squinting at my computer screen is that Multicam has 5 layers:
1. green (fades from light to dark) desert mint--->Woodland green
2. dark tan Coyote brown
3. light tan desert mirage tan
4. dark brown woodland camo brown
5. white urban mirage white
I have already ordered some self-adhesive stencils from www.bulldogarms.com it seem their "multi-spec" pattern should work decently. I'll be the 1st to admit, this is not for perfect match or for tactical uses. It's mostly because I think camo rifles look cool. And in the very very unlikely event of SHTF, I might have a fairly adaptable pattern on there, but this rifle will live its life as a glorified paper hole puncher.
The wife's rifle is going to get the same stencil pattern, but with these layers:
1. Coyote brown
2. desert mirage tan
3. woodland camo brown
4. Pink lady
5. White
Basically replace the green layer with pink and use a lighter white. She'll be completely undetectable in a flower planter box or a gay pride parade. Basically, if she likes her rifle and bonds with it, she'll be more inclined to shoot it. But I'm luckier than most already 'cause she's going to babes with bullets in a couple weeks. . . probably come back and be able to soundly kick my butt at steel.
This is going to be a lot of duracoat to order. I hope it'll be worth it. Please let me know if any of these colors are way out of line for trying to match multicam.
