    Seriously considering a Daewoo...

The rifle, not the car :P

I shot a DR-200 a while back and I really liked the feel of the gun even in its sporterized configuration. I seem to be seeing the rifles for an affordable price online but there is one issue giving me pause. My one issue is a lack of any kind of bullet button. True, I could potentially go featureless by removing the FH and filling the stock, but I'd rather avoid that.
Most of what I've seen here have been custom solutions that are probably a bit out of my skills. If anyone can offer some insight or a solution I'd love to hear it.

    Thanks!

really nice rifles but the lack of spare parts should be why you stay away.

I'm a sucker for punishment so that doesn't scare me too much.

Besides, from my research these things are built like tanks. Really it's just getting one Californicated that worries me.

There are some parts available, http://daewoorifleparts.com/forums/index.php

Has any one tried an AR bullet button? I remember my internal parts I used to be 922r compliant on my DR200 were AR parts, my Woo is buried to far in the safe to pull it out and look at it.

But here's a pic, I like my Woo better than my AR's

i know some of the parts are standard ar15. looks like the mag catch is so maybe you could just file/dremel a regular BB to fit.

there was also a company that made ar15 lowers for california that had a round mag button/BB lock. maybe that would work?

Is that for real? that's like a cross-breed between a Galil, AR and some sort of H&K?

Yes it is, that's why I love it, mine is a standard DR200, Ace fixed skeleton stock, Daewoo scope rail.

These used to go for about $400-$500 bucks.

More like a cross between a M16 and FAL.

The Daewoo DR-200 is the "sporting purpose" imported version of the Daewoo K-2, which has been the standard issue rifle for the ROK military since the mid-1980s.

                  Go for it!

The DR-200 is an excellent rifle, just be aware that it's barrel has a 1:12 ROT and prefers lighter ammo (55 gr).

I was recently looking at the DR-200 for a new suppressor host, but ended up finding a deal on a pre ban AR-100 that I could not pass up.

I've replaced the standard flash hider with a DC Vortex and I am working on acquiring a free float rail system for it. The AR-100 has a 1:7.3 ROT.
