    .308 Ar-10

I have not kept up with the current laws in California. What are the requirements for a legal AR-10 type rifle. I want to use an Armilite upper and I know that I would have to replace the flash suppressor with a muzzle brake.
But what about the lower? I've seen the AR-15 lowers that have a blind magazine that requires breaking the gun, to load it. How do the 308 revievers handle that? Of those who have built one, is there a concenus on the best quality lower? also, wouldn't a thumbhloe type stock need to be used and who makes the best one ot those?

The configuration issues are same as those are applied on AR15 or AKs.

You need to find an off-list AR-10 style lower receiver. You may go either "gripless" configuration or "fixed magazine" route. Different restrictions apply on different configurations.

Kind to get: Anything buy Hesse/Vulcan

Modifications: Build with a fixed (10rd or less) magazine, or without evil features.

Note: A thumbhole stock is an evil feature.

          ^^
          nice rifle.

but, with the fulton .308 now available and priced comparable to the hesse/vulcan offering, there is no need to give consideration. however, when they were the only game in town, and we were afraid of the "list is coming," it was a no brainer.

Yes, but the Fulton does not work with Armalite uppers.

User 'CG' here has a very nice Ar10 upper on a Hesse/Vulcan lower and it works grrrreat.
