            20MM

20 mm anti-tank gun? What, water tanks? 20MM wouldn't penetrate the armor
            of early WW2 tanks!

The various big caliber (13.2 German, 14.5 Soviet, 20mm Swiss, Finn and German) AT rifles came off the drawing boards before WWII.

              I've fired a 20mm.

It wasn't something that I'd want to do on a regular basis.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

At 90 degrees at 100M the Lahti could penetrate 30mm of armor.

Which could penetrate many of the Soviet Union's tanks during the Winter War such as the BT series.

T-34 and later tanks had 50+ frontal armor but the less armored sides and rear could be vulnerable.

but a shot to the tracks would imobilize it allowing for follow up shots to possible be sent into side or rear of tanks. or to block a road or allow other troops to over run it.

At one time there was one stored in the property room of the Kern County Sheriff's office. Guy had to turn his in when the 1968 GCA went into effect.

I think its a really cool firearm, truly a shame that we can't have DDs here in Cali.

Cool thread on them recently: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=252949

Another 20mm that is really cool is the Croatian RT-20, which was kind of like a small recoilless rifle:

Anzio Ironworks had a Ca legal version at SHOT. It was their new 20-50. It's a 20mm necked down to .510".
