It was given to me years ago by our now retired sheriff

I'll see if I can find a date or a serial lookup deal for armalites

These were made in the mid-90's, it appears. Had the complete designation of M4C been used in this thread originally, it would have made things a lot different. Just Google "Armalite M4C."

it's been sitting around here forever, it'll probably sit around here a while more before I do anything with it

It has a lot of sentimental value and someday it'll be a gun again

ar-30 legal? detachable mag and pistol grip

I'm new here.

I followed the legal/not CA legal flowchart and I got stuck at the bottom. The AR-30 has a detachable magazine, so to be legal, it cannot have a pistol grip.
How does it get around this (to be legal)?
