Remington 40X in 30.06

I just bought a single shot Remington 40X in 30.06, single shot with a heavy stainless steel barrel. Original stock with rail, it's drilled and tapped for the usual peep rear and globe front iron sights. Comes with a Leupold 24X target scope, fine crosshairs. It's the standard short action, same as my 7.62 repeater

Are all the Remington 40X centerfire rifles on the same short action, or did the longer cartridges use a longer action?

You have a nice rifle and scope combination! All 40X are short actions, even the magnums.
