yes. but I asked the guy who sold the rail to me to purchase $300 worth. Which is like 2 dollars more.

I have actually had better service with fedex because they usually deliver in the morning or early afternoon. UPS gets to me at like 6PM.. Other than that. I have never had a problem until now. It was a used rail and insurance was purchased and I got my money back so Im not so mad.

I have mailed over 1000 parcels the last 12 months with USPS Priority and have only had 1 Incident where the package was damaged. But the item inside was still intact.

im about 2/50 with UPS and 0/20 with FedEX

FedEx sucks also. They just "lost" a $800 Dell laptop that I was shipping to someone. I forgot to declare a value, so looking at a reimbursement of $100. Better yet, they don't even initiate a search for missing packages until 20 days after they disappear!

$200k/year in the Central Valley--sweet! May I ask what you do for a living? My guess is: something to do with computers, day trader, farmer, or drug dealer/maker.

Industrial electrical foreman specializing in PLC (programmable logic control/Automation) and EPB TBMs(Earth Pressure Balance Tunnel boring machines special for tunneling in soft ground, which are about 100 times more sophisticated then hard rock TBMs). There are a lot of tunnel projects in Nor-Cal. After UPS I started working for a general contractor. My foreman told me I was to good for that work and should become an electrician or a plumber. Got a job as an apprentice electrician within a year was getting journeyman pay(that was just before journeymen was state tested and 4 year minimum) kept working my way up by learning everything I could and busting my @$$. So 5 Electrical contractors later. Here I am.

Edit: So, yes it does have something to do with computers. Also high voltage substations, 480 distribution, Class 1 division 2 and division 1 explosive locations, etc... stuff 99.99 of electricians can't do. Honestly most of the time I feel under payed.

I've given up on UPS and FedEx entirely and ship anything I need to ship using USPS. They are cheaper, quicker, and much more convenient...at least for me they are. My post office is a block away from me so I can either walk there to drop packages off or just have my mail man pick it up. I've saved a lot of money using their flat rate boxes for things that aren't breakable. What's not to like, you can get free boxes sent to you from USPS and you can print your shipping label at home assuming you know the weight of your package.

On the bright side of things, what might happen is that you'll get the insurance money, and the package will arrive months later...

That happened to one of the guys on here, if I remember correctly. An upper was lost, he bought a new one and the previous order arrived a few months later...
