Depending how picky you are you might get a brand new barrel. Then the extra work involved is needed.
Remember the original barrels had fire coming out and it's not good for steel. That kind barrel would be good for shortening and turnin down for that different FSB. Interesting project for sure. I got lucky and found a very nice original barrel If I were to buy new barrel I'd send my NDS-9 to Tennessee for blueing Mine has an original not new look Leave you wood alone when you get your kit......Unless you want a brand new look
