Yes it is. I wonder if it's a Springfield Armory receiver? You know the real Springfield Armory? That might cause some concern if a LEO thinks it's a banned SA BM59 gun? But I guess if it doesn't say BM59 on it, no cop would know what a BM59 is...well very few cops anyway.

Some people doing builds this year from this State had such concerns. Technically the banned one is made by Springfield Armory, Inc., not the U.S. Army's Springfield Armory. But IIRC with respect to the guidance, it just describes the presence of the make "Springfield Armory". Someone suggested that the safe way to go about things was to use anything but a SA receiver. Not to difficult, as there are Beretta, Breda, H&R, Winchester, IHC, and other receivers out there. Of course, this may be a non-issue if you don't have BM-59 engraved on it after the fact. The SA receivers say "U.S. Rifle M-1". But if you want it to have the new model name engraved on it, it probably would be the safest to avoid the SA receivers. You could also have it say BM-62 or BM-69 instead of BM-59, which wouldn't be too far off for a CA-legal model.

An old thread, but I'm curious as to whether anyone has come up with a ten-round solution for the BM-59.

Might have to have custom internal mag blocks made out of kydex that are riveted to the existing hole in the floor plate, assuming it's the kind with the hole already.

You should be able to just say you can't find any and it's on the prosecution to find one for sale.

Epoxy something like kydex to block the mag. Just use something that you dissolve later.

My BM-59 mags are riveted but I didn't really care.

Schuffs does a mod so that it can take M14 mags and there are 10 rounders for that.

Or just epoxy a magblock like the guy said above
