if it is permanently pinned or mag blocked and can only hold 10 rounds, it is legal per written law (even in 2017)

I don't like the idea of mag blocks because an unaware leo will not know better

at least with a pin or rivet you can physically see it is blocked

so yes, you can have a 60 round mag if it holds only 10 LOL

doesn't matter what the mag looks like. if it holds only 10 rounds, then it's G2G

How is an extra long 10 round mag no longer legal? There's no regulation that says a mag must be a specific length, only that it cannot hold more than 10 rounds. Nor is there any language about "as originally designed". It's perfectly legal to have a 100 foot long magazine as long as it holds only 10 rounds.

Sounds to me like your store is afraid of their method, not the legality of a properly done conversion

There are lots of retailers jumping on the "we're not selling to Cali" bandwagon...

Just look around this site, you'll see them.

Lots of Cali FFLs jumping on the "we're not gonna do that anymore" bandwagon...

                    'Heard in a gunstore ....'

As noted above, no, a properly modified 10/30 will still be legal.
