    MDR Update

For those of you waiting for the MDR to drop, Desert Tech dropped some minor updates over the weekend.

Looks like they're saying 6 months so fingers crossed.

If it's anywhere near the quality of the SRS, they've got a winner but I'm also not holding my breath for a low price tag.

I wonder what the difference is between the standard 19" and the Compliant version.

Strange that they're doing 5.56 and 7.62x51 in the same basic gun.

It's weird that they don't have the same calibers though...

Side note, I wonder how they're going to sell the handguards and if you can buy them separately. would love to have that hybrid one on the bottom.

one of the things they are showing off in this update is that they are looking at more calibers than just the 5 they are going to start out with. The 19inch 'Echo' version has 6.5 creedmoor which has a lot of other people very excited. If you notice they are not offering the 6.5 creedmoor in the 16 inch version. Think of it like a DMR. On their bolt action rifles some calibers are not offered in shorter barrel lengths.

Compliant could also have to do with the Canadian market which I understand needs a minimum 19 inch barrel.

As to why they do not have 7.62x51 on the compliant list, I think it has more to do with sloppiness than anything else. The first variant of this poster listed all of the models (every different barrel length) as having the same 26inch total length.

I have to say I am really excited about the .22lr and hope that they make a 45acp that takes glock magazines.

I've been keeping up on this since it was first introduced at Shot Show 2013. This last updated didn't have a whole lot of new information, except that they brought someone from outside to be apart of their new team.

You're right though, Hybrid hand-guard looks pretty cool.
