Just found these pics...... At the 2021 lever gun silhouette nationals, I fired my way into a 5 in a row turkey pin while my spotter Brian captured turkeys #4 and #5 falling off their stands.

Nice batch of lever rifles there!
One of these days, I?ll have to go down into the catacombs of the SplitHoof armory and bring out some. Mostly old Winchester models, but a sprinkling of Savage, Ted Williams (Sears), and a few other oddities.
Lately I?ve been amused by single-shots in larger calibers, but some of those have ?levers? too.

Don't let me shoot and carry it, though. I'm liable to mess up that purty finish rubbin' that butt all over the 1911 on my hip. d'oh. I just noticed I do that. My once-minty Marlin 1894FG has the scars to prove it... !@#%*$!

I'll get over it. I did buy it to shoot, anyway.

I got a Champion 12kw Genset at Home depot two years ago. Have only used it several times but she starts and runs beautifully and not that loud either. Not a bad price either for the size. It replaced a 5kw unit that gave up the ghost after over 20 years of random use.

This was Mokelumne Hill the last Friday of February. Elevation is 1500'. The pics don't really show it well but there's about two inches of snow on the roof. B.

Henry Lever 45-70 Recall

Henry Recall

Henry Repeating Arms recently discovered a safety issue affecting certain lever action .45-70 Gov?t rifles manufactured during the period from December 14, 2022, through January 11, 2023. Henry is voluntarily initiating a recall to protect the safety of its customers.

The Issue & Fix:

Under certain conditions, it is possible that some of these rifles may unintentionally discharge without the trigger being pulled if the hammer is released or dropped from the cocked position. Henry has identified the cause of the issue as firing pins that may not meet specifications and is replacing the firing pin to correct it.

Models Affected:

The list of models affected by this recall are as follows: H010G, H010GAW, H010GAWP, H010GCC, H010X, H024-4570.
