My mom and dad had a house built in Georgetown Ca in 1963. I was 4 and that was their dream. A few months after we moved in my mom was diagnosed with MS. Long story short, my dads parents raised me and my sisters and they did an outstanding job.

I guess I need to repay that

I wish they were older (10 and 6) they have never been in any kind of sports or other activities. Dads way of dealing with them is making sure their tablets are charged.

I sympathize. My oldest daughter and two grandkids moved back in with us after fleeing an abusive relationship in Virginia. It was expensive getting them out here and then to Ohio when they left after 6 months. I love 'em, though. It gave me a chance to spend lots of time with my grandson, teaching him to handload, shoot better and take him on his first hunt in The Preserve. I passed along a 1974 WIn 94 .30-30 and the Mossberg shotgun he hunted with.

We are planning a family reunion in Las Vegas in June, I am not sure of one of my daughters and her family will make it, but hopefully they will for at least a few days,

Yeah, they made the rounds. If memory serves me correctly they did some enduros too. Simpler times back then and I miss that era too. But, retirement is wonderful as well. lol
