Scope base question

Even though I prefer the looks of two piece bases(I hunt, don't do any target shooting), I only use a one piece picatinny anymore. It just makes mounting so much simpler.

And what's the difference between the Vortex rings and the tps rings? Vortex is cheaper by about 50 bucks, but I'm more concerned with quality.

I use TPS rings all the time, pretty much my go-to brand. Never had a problem with them. Good quality hardware.

I also like Seekins... I get them if I am trying to treat myself... I just like their design and build quality. I think it shows.

How similar in quality is the tps to badger?

TPS are equal or maybe even a little nicer than badger from my experience.

Ok, so with my Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44mm scope, what about the following setup

Badger Ordnance 20moa Remington Short Action Base

So, with that cantilever mount, even if I push the rings as far forward as possible on the scope and then place the mount as far back in the picatinny rail as possible, it'll still be too far forward for proper eye relief?

Regardless of the length issue, the excessive height is a bigger issue.

Except I just noticed that one doesn't have a picatinny rail adapter...back to the drawing board.

That's a nice setup as long as you are staying with 30mm scopes.

I got the Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44 already. It's got a 30mm tube. I guess the question then would be what height? Low, medium, or high?

I am currently building an AR10, maybe until I could afford a second scope I could switch back and forth

That won't work.
The AR mount will be horribly high and put the scope unusably forward on the bolt gun.

Been doing some research, what do y'all think about this set up:

Vortex Viper HS-T 4-16x44
Badger Ordnance 0moa picatinny base
Vortex Precision QR Extended Cantilever 30mm 20moa mount

That's not a good mount for a bolt gun as it is WAY too tall.
That mount is for an AR.

Get a 20moa base and use TPS low rings for that scope.
