I'm sure the stock guide rod is fine, it is just a personal preference to replace it with a steel part. On an already heavy pistol, the weight difference is nominal.Leave a comment:

Can't install a steel guide rod unless you drill out the hole for it.Here is an updated picture of my CZ-85B. I invested in CZ strictly based on the loyal praise heaped on them by Calguns members. It is easily now one o fmy favorite pistols. I have put a couple boxes of ammo through it and it runs 100% and shoots like a laser. The only mods I added were CZ factory wood grips, hex grip screws, and a CZ steel guide rod. I have a couple Mec-Gar magazines and as usual the Mec-Gars are equal or better than the factory mags.
