        Primary bedside gun- SW1911- Speer Gold Dot 230 gr JHP, never one FTF
        Secondary/sometimes rotate for HD- Wilson Combat CQB- same Gold Dots
        Glock 30sf- same Gold Dots

        Never had a FTF in any of them

              XD45 Compact. Mine shoots the Hornady 185 grain critical defense and the Winchester PDX1 230 grain well.

                S&W M&P45c or Kimber Compact CDP. I use Federal HST 230gr +P as my preferred self defense load.

                          Kimber SuperCarry Pro HD, CDP Pro & Ultra.
                          Remington Golden Saber 230 gran in the 4" guns and 185 in the 3".

                          Golden Saber is an older round, but a good one. It has long history of being a round that 1911s digest well. I know my Kimbers run rock solid with them and that is first and foremost in anybody's selection of a defense round.
