Just picked up a Nighthawk Custom today.

So just added this sexy beast to my collection. Haven't owned a 1911 in awhile so I'm pretty stoked!! I pick it up in a few days and then hopefully have some fun with it at the range.

Anyone know how much Nighthawk charges to re-finish their pistols?

Depends on the type of finish

Seems a shame to refinish a brand new pistol. Run in it some classes, mess it up a little... then refinish it.

That's the plan. I didn't mean to refinish it right away.

                  Congrats.

Question, why are you asking about refinishing brand new pistol? Do you want to go a different route?

No, not at all. I love the way it looks now. It was a question meant for after I put some wear and tear on it then refinishing so it looked new again.

Dan6414, I'm also the proud papa of a Nighthawk GRP and trust me when I say you will never regret the purchase. It is, without question, my all time favorite 1911.

The boys in Berryville will have to have your pistol in hand to determine the refinishing cost as it will vary based on the location and level of damage. But don't be surprised if you don't need their refinishing services. Mine has held up quite well over the past few years.

nice, so who was your gunsmith? I honestly think nighthawks, depending on the smith, are put together better than most wilson combat lines, except maybe the supergrade models..

Hope you use that gun, not just safe queen gun. Very nice looking 1911 you got there, very nice.
