Dirk Danger should not have advanced. You don't advance on moose. Dirk should've stayed in suburbia.

Obviously, he didn't. He saw the moose in the trail, waited about 5 seconds, then advanced on it. You do not advance on wild animals. Period. You wait for them to get on their way. Unless there is something that is already a life or death situation for you. Toying about on your sled is not a reason to advance on any animal in your trail.

The moose charged because it thought it was being attacked. If the dude had waited a couple minutes, he wouldn't have had to fire his weapon at all.

Can't believe he didn't pack the moose up to grill up some steaks and make jerky later.

It's Calguns, where hopefully better judgement is used than in SFGate. He should not have advanced. He was impatient to get on with his weekend.
              He is a douche.

I disagree with the comments disparaging the moose terminator and in general those who always jump to defend the animal as if it were some innocent angel.

In my experience, wild animals are evil, violent and need to be killed at the first sign of aggressive violence toward humans. Chimps, Moose, Hogs, Sharks, Rhinos, Elephants, and especially Hippos. Animals display the same kind of behavior as the worst inmates in prisons. I saw the moose attempt to murder the guy before it was rightly put down.

Before people jump on me, I do own dogs (German Shepard and a Chow Chow) and cats (A tabby, a Siamese, and a tuxedo) and I would do them in myself if they ever tried to kill or seriously injure a person.

Love the dude that compares a wild animal to a house cat. Moose, bear, bison, donkeys, etc are not friggin house cats.

Dumbasses like this guy (in the vid) walk up to bison every year thinking it's their right, and their land, too. And I don't feel an ounce of sadness when they get their *** gored. But apparently you think that a photographer that gets too close to a wild animal in Yellowstone should be able to cap a bison all gangsta style because it was born violent, right? So lame.

I have been in a situation where I was hunting small game with a buddy and a moose calf ended up between us and the mama moose. The calf was about 30-40 yards from us and that mama moose came charging at us from the tree line about 50-60 yards. We switched from enjoying watching the calf to a heart pumping Oh $#!+ run for your life. I swear that moose was breathing down my neck by the sound of big stomping behind me, but we made it to some pine trees and maybe ran around them realizing we were safe. When I looked back I see mama moose rushing to her calf and they are about 75 yards from us. We just stared at the moose realizing I could've drawn my 357 revolver and shot at it when she charged at us. That would've been sad if I did shoot and kill her for our stupidity not thinking that mama moose may be around. I tell you I heard my heart beating so loud and saw every spot where to step on. It was like slow motion and a tunnel vision.

The snowmobiler could've kept his distance to decrease the moose's hostility, but he did what he did. The moose threw some blows and with those hooves it only takes one good hit to the right spot and put someone in a coma. Really sad it ended that way.
