I have both... TRP looks fancier with its magwell, fcs, slide markings, etc.... DW Valor has better fit & finish, easily noticeable when you handle one right after the other. The only 1911 I've ever personally shot that seemed to have better fit & finish was a Wilson CQB Elite.

^^^Wilson CQB Elite is an art form. I have had the privilege to shoot one a few times. Just fantastic. The fit, finish, trigger pull, everything.

I have a Valor in jail. I have also respected a lot of comments here regarding the TRP. Since I have a DW already, Valor was a easy choice. Did I choose wisely?

In my opinion, yes. The DWs are relatively harder to find than the Springfields. For that reason alone, you made a good decision.

Personally I'd get a EB almost every time if I had the cash.

And I agree around here the TRP gets a ton of praise. But after signing up and lurking over a few other 1911 deticated forums the TRP is actually frowned upon.


I don't mind either one but for the price tags EB was the better choice IMO. Congrats on the pick up.

Lot of people like DMPS AR 15s but what does that prove???
