    Ruger .357 Maximum

I recently purchased a Ruger .357 Maximum. At some point I plan to reload for the max cartridge but in the meantime I wanted to fire standard .357.
All the research I've done indicates that you can safety fire .357 mag and 38 Spl through the Maximum. The problem I'm having is the bullet is contacting the forcing cone at the 12 o'clock position and scraping off a small amount of copper jacket. All it takes is about two rounds before enough copper accumulates that the cylinder jams and fails to rotate. I have ruled out a timing issue since the problem occurs at the 12 0'clock and not near the 3 or 9 position. I 've tried 4 different factory loads and 3 of my .357 reloads with the same result. I appreciate any help you can provide.
