I would like to see an aluminum grip that would allow for the use of standard 1911 grip panels.

That would make for a very fat double stack 1911.

a 2011 frame itself is wide enough that a single stack adapter/grip just wouldnt work. it wouldnt be practical at all. i found a model online of a single stack two piece frame... its hideous, but i could redesign it pretty simply.
i wont do this, however. i have fallen in love with the 2011 design, i will probably be running them for a while... there are some very interesting daily carry builds i am experimenting with.

good news, my friends! fresh off another health setback, i have repaired the machine and am training someone to operate it for me to keep these breaks from ruining my schedule anymore.
here is footage of us running warmup program:

so, what im gonna be doing for this month is running some .308 ar recievers of my design. they are sr25 pattern, and i think, very nice. i can post renderings if yall are interested. im doing these for now because of friend/family demand, and also because they are a much simpler part to train my guy on. as always, you can email me at beaconfrommars@gmail.com

ya i have made rough grip designs, but i need to get my hands on some more 2011 mags and grips before i can finish the design and see if its something i can make practically.

If you're using the CAD files from cncguns.com, then it'll be compatible with almost all 1911 and STI/SVI/2011 parts. The standard double stack polymer/aluminum/steel grips will be plug and play.
There will only be a few minor differences in parts, like a double stack trigger, etc.

If you're planning to sell, make sure you submit your 80% to the ATF and get a letter from them saying that they've determined your part to be a Non Firearm.
Here's a link to an example letter. From the ATF to Quentin Laser stating that their 80% is a Non Firearm
