I am just playing with the idea of stripping and polishing out my pt1911. The existing surface of the slide is pretty worn and has a lot of the existing parkerization rubbed off or scratched. I am playing, just playing at the moment with the idea of somehow stripping the parkerization off and polishing it and then the frame as well. The frame is a grey color that I am not all that fond of. What I am wondering is will there be a major difference in the tone of the polished metal between the steel slide and the aluminum frame, and how difficult it will be? Or should I just leave it alone as my mechanically sound but ugly beater? I am just thinking about doing it out of boredom since I can't go out and buy another 1911 a the moment.
